Leo’s Donair began in 1981 with a simple vision, a commitment to quality, and a family determined to build something of their own.

Founded by Leo and Jean Toulany, the business started by supplying ground beef to local establishments in Nova Scotia's. As the popularity of the donair grew, so did the demand for Leo’s products. What began as a small family operation steadily grew into one of Nova Scotia's most established names in donair productions.

Over the years, Leo’s has taken the unmistakable flavour of the traditional donair and transformed it into a growing lineup of products for restaurants, retailers and families to enjoy.

Today, our product line includes donair meat, donair loaves, donair burgers, donair sausages, donair fingers, donair egg rolls, donair sauce, and our donair spice, along with gluten-free options across select products.

From supplying restaurants and foodservice businesses to expanding our retail presence across Nova Scotia's, our goal has remained the same: to deliver great-tasting, high-quality products our customers can depend on.

Donair is more than food to us. It's part of Nova Scotia's culture, and we're proud to have played a role in its story for more than 40 years.

In 2015, the donair was officially recognized as the Official Food of Halifax — a proud moment for an industry and tradition that Leo’s has been part of since 1981.

As we've grown, we've never forgotten where we started or the community that has supported us along the way.

Giving back remains an important part of who we are. Through initiatives such as our annual Leo’s Donair Summerfest, we've had the opportunity to bring together customers, families, local businesses, and community organization while supporting causes close to home, including the IWK Foundation.

From Leo and Jean’s small operation in 1981 to the growing productions company we are today, every chapter of our story has been built on family, quality, hard work, and community.

We're proud of how far we've come, but we're even more excited about where we're going.
